I have chosen to write this review as I thought this book was fantastic and right up my street. I love fantasy books that include suspense and mystery throughout and this book had it all. I continuously didn't want to put the book down and that is a big thing for me as I am not a big reader. I came to really like some of the characters, especially Ash and am hoping there will be a second book with the same characters. I would recommend this book to someone who was interested in mysterious and magical adventures with some romance along the way. I look forward to more books written by Jackie Southam and would definitely recommend her as an author.

This is the first time that I have read this author, and I was very impressed. I started to worry at the start of the book that it was going to be a bit 'wishy washy' with regards to the Shaman aspect, however this was not the case. The story does refer to the spirit world - but it is all relevant! I enjoyed getting to know the main characters within the book and I liked how the story developed. I would love to work for Emma and Ash. . . . it would be great fun!

Fantastic!!! Not what I expected and not the usual type of book I would read. For this reason it took me until about page 40 to really get into it. Then WOW, couldn't put it down, interesting, informative with great characters and a 'magic' :) storyline. I certainly hope this author is writing another book as I for one will be buying it.

this book introduced all the characters in the first chapter, creating an image of each person to hold throughout the book. Exciting concepts, I want to know more and I can't wait for the next book. I will recommend to my business and personal contacts.
